Rio: Labrador

What a home from home for my dog - he didn't want to leave his trial stay and cant wait to return in the summer. Eleanor is amazing - I really felt she understood my dog and his needs and he was so well cared for. It was great that we got to meet for a walk first so he already knew her, and the photo updates were a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend.

Daphne: Rhodesian Ridgeback

We have a Rhodesian Ridgeback that can be pretty quirky, and so finding the right fit was really tricky. However, Eleanor could not have done more to understand and make so much effort to welcome Daphne and help her settle in. It’s such a relief to know that she will be in such excellent care when she stays. We feel very lucky!

Rosso: Labrador

What a brilliant experience we had with Eleanor and Raymond. This was the first time we have left our very high energy, crazy Labrador over night and he absolutely loved it. Both Eleanor and Raymond were so good with him. They took time to understand his needs and make it the most positive experience. Nothing seemed to faze them and it's very easy to see how much they love having dogs around. We feel incredibly lucky to have found them and Rosso is looking forward to more adventures with them.

Nutmeg: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Eleanor, who runs Pawsome Retreat, is a lovely lady. I've known her for several years and have met her on many dog walks. I was so pleased when she told me she was setting up in business as a dog walker and dog sitter. She has been very accommodating in taking my cavalier king charles spaniel for walks. On their first walk, Raymond joined her and took some beautiful photos, which was a brilliant bonus.

Eleanor has a lovely rapport with dogs. She is always very aware of safety and the dogs' wellbeing. I trust her implicitly and have booked her for regular walks on the days I cannot walk Nutmeg myself. I thoroughly recommend her.

Stanley: Labrador

Eleanor has been wonderful with my dog Stanley. She made sure he went for a nice walk to help him settle down, and let him socialise and meet other dogs while out. She and her partner played with Stanley at home, and he was happy, and relaxed when I went to pick him up❤️

Eleanor has been wonderful with my Labrador Stanley, she met us for a walk before his stay, and checked for any needs he would have, also sent update photos. He's been relaxed with her, and well looked after❤️❤️❤️. Thank you Eleanor ☺️ xxx

Ruby & Holly: Labradors

This was the first time that Eleanor had looked after my dogs Holly and Ruby and I was extremely happy. Eleanor was very organised with pre-stay information and was very keen to understand the dogs’ normal routine etc to ensure a comfortable stay. She was calm and kind with the dogs and ensured I was kept updated with how they were alongside beautiful photos. I would absolutely recommend Eleanor. Thank you so much and Holly and Ruby are looking forward to their next stay.

Bear: Labrador X Collie

We have had an incredibly positive experience with Eleanor. Her communication and organisation is fantastic and we know without question that the level of care that our dog Bear received whilst we were away was the best of the best. Eleanor is clearly looking to make the experience for both pet and owner as best as it can be and we couldn't be more grateful for her. Thank you for taking such good care of our precious Bear.

Freya: Cocker Spaniel

This is the first time that I have required a dog sitter for my Cocker Spaniel - Freya . I was drawn to Eleanor’s advertisement because she loves dogs but does not at present have a dog and does not intend to have more than one dog in a sitting. I immediately knew that Freya would get a lot of love and attention. After our first pre-sit dog walk I knew I had struck gold. Eleanor not only understands dogs but dog owners too. By the time I went on holiday I was totally confident and at ease with the booking. Now that I have picked Freya up I am delighted to see the relationship they have and I can see that Freya has been happy and well cared for. To other dog owners I can’t recommend Eleanor highly enough.

This is Freya’s second visit to Eleanor.
Freya eagerly returned to her ‘second home’ and obviously has a great relationship with Eleanor. I am able to go away knowing that my dog is well cared for happy.

Genie: Mixed breed rescue

My previous experience on Rover (not with Eleanor and Raymond) was horrific, which left me hesitant to leave my dog, Genie, with anybody... When I met Eleanor and Raymond for a meet and greet, they were shocked, compassionate and reassuring - I got a sense they were a good fit for me and Genie. Before the main booking, we agreed to do a trial sleepover to make sure everybody was a good fit and it went great! Eleanor and Raymond are both lovely, I now have peace of mind knowing Genie will be in safe hands going forward

My previous experience with dog boarding was horrific, which left me feeling really anxious about leaving my dog, Genie, with anyone I didn't already know.

Eleanor and Raymond are a lovely couple who immediately put me at ease. They were incredibly reassuring and built a real foundation of trust from the start.

Their attention to detail and genuine compassion are the highest I've experienced with dog boarding. They've truly become Genie's home away from home, and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them.

They've even arranged a pet first aid course for owners to attend, which really speaks volumes about their level of care.

Gracie: Labrador

Gracie was obviously very happy in Eleanor's care. She is usually wary of new people but a walk with some water splashing and a session of ball throwing in the garden made all the difference. I'll be very happy to use Eleanor's services again

Gracie was obviously very happy during her stay with Eleanor. She kept me informed on how the stay was going with plenty of photos. Gracie was well exercised and had lots of attention which she loves. I would be more than happy to ask Eleanor to look after Gracie again

Lucy: German Shepherd X Collie

Eleanor and Raymond took such wonderful care of Lucy and all her little quirks. They went above and beyond, taking the time to get to know her personality - her likes, dislikes, and her favourite routine. They managed everything with a genuine affection for her. It was such a comfort to know she was in such capable, caring hands while we were away. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Highly recommend!

Icy: Cat (house sitting)

Eleanor has been looking after our cat for years now and has been fantastic. She gives us regular updates and really takes time to make a fuss of her, would highly recommend!

It was so lovely knowing our little cat was in safe hands, excellent communication and Eleanor was very knowledgeable and caring - will definitely use again!

First aid training

I attended an excellent Pet First Aid course yesterday organised by Pawsome Retreat. The lovely, personable Trainer covered a huge range of subjects, was very engaging, informative, knowledgeable and answered all questions in a very helpful and easy to understand manner. I can't recommend this course highly enough to all dog owners, dog walkers and pet carers. It can also include cats and gave the opportunity to practice what the Trainer demonstrated. I felt it certainly gave those who attended more confidence in what could be a life or death situation for a pet. Brilliant! Well done Pawsome Retreat! Thank you.
